FOREST PARK BASKETBALL CLUB
ORGANIZATION BYLAWS

1.1.1 The Forest Park Basketball Club committee will be composed of six committee members: one from each class (3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th) and a Forest Park Boy’s Varsity Basketball Representative.

1.1.2 The committee members will be selected from each grade to represent them in the Forest Park Basketball Club organization. The representative must have a son in the respected class. The term will last for one year but the representative can be reelected for multiple terms.

1.1.3 Where upon two parents want to be a representative there will be a vote taken during the open meeting for tryouts. The vote will consist of one vote for each family of a player present plus the Forest Park Basketball Club president. The vote will be private and all ties will be broken by the vote of the president.

1.1.4 The beginning of each term for both the committee member and the president will start the day after the open tryout meeting.

1.2.1 The presidential candidate must have a son in grades four to seven plus have served as a committee member for as least one term.

1.2.2 The president will be elected from one of the six-committee members. The vote will consist of each of the six-committee members and the Forest Park Boy’s Varsity Basketball Representative.

1.2.3 The term will last for one year but the president can be reelected for multiple terms as long as he is still serving on the committee.

1.2.4 Where upon no presidential candidate steps forward the Forest Park Varsity Boy’s representative will select someone to fill the office based upon the recommendation of the committee.

1.3.1 The committee will also select a secretary and treasurer from its other five-committee members.

1.4.1 The committee is responsible for day to day operations of the Forest Park Basketball Club. The main responsibility is the income and expenditure of the organization.

1.4.2 The Forest Park Basketball Club is a non-for-profit organization.

1.4.3 The committee will decide on uniforms, equipment, fund raisers, and money towards tournament entry fees.

1.4.4 The committee will vote on the financial plan for the upcoming year.

1.4.5 The secretary, president, and Forest Park Boy’s Varsity representative are the only ones allowed access to financial transactions.

1.5.1 The Forest Park Boy’s Varsity Basketball Representative will be a selected by the boy’s varsity coach. The representative will act as the link between the organization and the Forest Park Boy’s Program.

1.5.2 The representative has a vote in all matters and can speak for the varsity head coach.

1.6.1 The committee votes on major issues concerning the organization. The votes consist of six committee members and the representative. The representative can choose whether to vote or not.

1.6.2 The Forest Park Boy’s Varsity Basketball Coach has the ability to veto any decision mandated by the committee that may be contrary to the philosophy of the program.

1.7.1 The bylaws can be amended by at least a 5-7 committee vote where all member of the committee are present.

1.8.1 The primary goal for the Forest Park Basketball Club is to become a sustained top class organization in which we provide a free structured environment in which to help our athletes develop accordingly with our Boy’s Varsity Philosophy.
